Q: How do I purchase a Nitro Trailer?
A: All purchases must go through our authorized dealers which a list can be found here.
Q: Where can I get pricing for a Nitro Trailer?
A: All pricing is through a dealer.
Q: How do I purchase spare parts or accessories?
A: All dealers have access to all our parts and accessories which can be ordered through an authorized dealer.
Q: Why is one dealer advertising a trailer so much more or so much less?
A: Dealers sometimes order models with different specifications than others as well as the destination charge may be different from dealer to dealer. All dealers work off an MSRP for the base model.
Q: What is the lead time if I were to order a trailer?
A: We prioritize sold orders for each dealer and we typically like to build sold orders within 4-6 weeks of order, although supply chain issues may play a factor – Please consult with your dealer what the lead time may be.
Q: If I am purchasing the trailer from out of a state that I do not live in do I have to pay sales tax?
A: Each state has different requirements, please consult with your purchasing dealer.
Warranty
Q: How long is the warranty for my Nitro Trailer?
A: Nitro offers a 5-year warranty on workmanship and defects for private use and a year for Commercial Use – Please read our warranty statement for further detail.
Q: Is the warranty on my axle only 5 years?
A: Your axle is covered by a 10-year warranty from the axle manufacturer – please read the axle warranty statement.
Q: Are bearings & brakes covered under warranty?
A: They are not, these are considered wear-and-tear items that need periodic maintenance.
Q: If I have a warranty will it cover any add-ons and replacements that I did to my trailer while I had it?
A: No unfortunately it does not. The warranty covers the specific issue only.
Q: When does my warranty start?
A: Your warranty registration must be returned to the manufacturer within 30 days of purchase and will be effective on the purchase date.
Q: What happens if I need to file a warranty claim?
A: The first thing you need to do is contact your purchasing dealer and explain the situation which at that point may require you to bring your trailer in for inspection.
Q: How long does it take to get a warranty claim approved?
A: Once the dealer has contacted us we typically can approve a claim within 2 business days.
Q: Will the warranty cover towing or transportation costs?
A: Unfortunately warranty will not cover towing or transportation costs such as fuel expenses, towing and travel time, or lost wages.
Q: Do you offer a roadside assistance program?
A: Some dealers may offer a roadside assistance program please consult with them.
Q: Who will fix my trailer in the event of a warranty?
A: This all depends on the issue most dealers have the ability to fix most issues on site.
Q: Is my warranty transferrable?
A: At this time Nitro does not offer transferrable warranties.
Q: What happens if I don’t send in my warranty registration when I purchase the trailer?
A: You will be covered for 1 year from the date of purchase for private-use trailers.
Options
Q: Can I add extra height to my trailer?
A: Yes we can add additional height to any trailer – There are some models we don’t advise adding additional height on as you will see more wear and tear on axles, bearings, tires, and the frame due to leverage.
Q: What colors can I get?
A: Black, White, Charcoal, Pewter, Silver, Blue, Red, & any two-tone combination you can think of.
Q: Can I pick what color I want on two-tone colored trailers?
A: Yes you can choose the color layout for what is available for colors.
Maintenance
Q: What is Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)?
A: The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the maximum total weight of the fully loaded trailer including cargo. This weight rating must never be exceeded.
Q: What is Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR)?
A: The Gross Axle Weight Rating is the maximum total weight to be carried by a single axle. This weight rating must never be exceeded.
Q: How is maximum payload capacity calculated?
A: Maximum payload capacity is the difference between the GVWR and the empty weight of the trailer. For example, GVWR of 2,990 lbs. – empty trailer weight of 900 lbs. = maximum payload capacity of 2,090 lbs.
Q: Can I haul more than the maximum payload capacity?
A: No. Maximum payload capacity assumes an evenly distributed load. If your load is confined to a limited space on the trailer, the maximum payload capacity is less than listed.
Q: What size torx bit do I use to remove screws on my trailer?
A: Use a #2 Sq bit – Yes a Square bit. The screw is a double-offset square.
